Re: What do you do with your old versions of characters?

1. Buy a big ass bin
2. Toss em in there
3. Hoard! Hoard! Hoard!
4. Find the bin 5 years later and enjoy them all over again.

Re: What do you do with your old versions of characters?

The characters that get the most updates are the season 1 to 3 figures since they are the most popular. I keep all the different versions of these characters from the first 3 seasons and have them displayed in the following individual displays:

Masterpiece1.0 - Toy accurate collection (along with 3rd party MP figures that best match this style)
Masterpiece2.0 - Cartoon accurate collection (along with 3rd party MP figures that best match this style)
Classics1.0 - Classics/Henkei/Generations/RTS collection
Classics2.0 - TitansReturn/Siege/Earthrise collection

Yes, my mancave is stacked lol...

Honestly, they're all great figures IMO. Yes, maybe the design of the older classics figures are not as aesthetically pleasing as the newer ones but at least they aren't a hollow and floppy mess like the newer stuff. In addition, the car modes and jet modes look better on the older classics figures.

I don't feel older version means worse version.

And due to past 5 year's price increase by 100%, I often just skip the new character, unless the over-all review is very positive.

Re: What do you do with your old versions of characters?

Well, I have been changing the goal of my collection since it started. I had a rule that went out the window a long time ago, that I wouldn't buy more than 1 of any given character.

So, what am I doing with the older versions? They are packed away in boxes in my closet, till either the closet explodes, or my wife looks in said closet and forces me to sell the bulk of them... And then I'll put a sell page up on here and hope for the best (please see my sell page for the tip of the iceberg that I've decided to let go of).

Wood Chipper, mulch, filler for protein bars...

Seriously though, Figures I longer have an attachment to I try to sell back to the community for the same or less than I paid for the figure so that someone else can enjoy it. If I’m not able to sell it then I give it to my nephew. If he doesn’t want it it does in the wood chipper.

So what do you do with your MP Bumblebee 1.0 an MP Optimus 2.0? LOL... Even MP has older versions of characters...
