Re: HLJ - Lessoned learned.

So, I guess I did not learn my lesson from my first encounter. Yes... I went back to order Revoltech Magnus when the new batch came out.

Here is my tale of woe: I placed the order on the 11th or 12th. I paid via paypal on the 12th (and the payment was accepted). I put my customer number and order number in the paypal payment (since my paypal email is different from my main one).

I heard nothing back from them about everything being shipped. I emailed them a couple days ago to ask them what was going on (especially since Revoltech Manus is not in stock anymore). I quote my paypal payment, etc. I get a response that my order will be shipped in the next couple of days. No real apology, or any comment on the delay. Bascially the only comment said it was hard to match differrent emails to orders (I gave you my customer number and order number... how hard is that?)... ARGH!!!

I've never had these kinds of issues with BBTS, Kooltoyz, A3U, etc.

jourdo 0 - HLJ 2. Seriously... this time I am done with these guys (I hope).

Re: HLJ - Lessoned learned.

You can oftentimes find stuff for LESS on Ebay. I don't know why people always think they will end up paying more on Ebay, it's really not the case. You just need to look around.

Re: HLJ - Lessoned learned.

If you're on a tight budget though, and you're not too impatient for an item, HLJ can be the most affordable price for some Transformers figures, since they sell it at the regular Japanese price.

Re: HLJ - Lessoned learned.

Actually, their prices are really cheap for shipping.

You just have to choose Surface Air Link (SAL). You just run the risk that they'll cheapen on the insulation, which can just sometimes be just 1 air bubble, leading to crushed or dented boxed.

Really, HLJ states that in their FAQs or store policy that they clearly DO NOT cater to collectors, and they're not responsible for slightly damaged boxed.

I dont know I dont think your really saving all that much personally, I dont know what shipping is but overall I cant see there being much savings in the process and with the hassle it seems it's wort investigating a little closer to home.

This is one of the reasons I have given them a go. Even with shipping costs, they end up close to (or less than) the prices here. I'm never in that much of a hurry to get the item, and I am not a MISB collector, so the slower shipping and risk of damaged boxes is not an issue for me.

My problem is I could not find this figure close to home at a reasonable price. Otherwise, I'm all about supporting the locals.

Re: HLJ - Lessoned learned.

No, I've browsed around online everywhere, Soundwave, HLJ is the cheapest, even with shipping and if you get taxed by Canada Customs. Again, it's not always cheaper, but often, it can be. At least with HLJ, they have a chart to tell you the shipping costs straight up, even for combined items, they do it based on Geographic Region and weight, while a lot of other retailers need to calculate it for you, which can often be annoying, since you'll have to email them all the time for a quote.

Revoltechs are about ~$19 CDN (1900 Yen) on HLJ, while every other North American retailer sells it for about $24-30.
