My First Repaint/Custom

First thanks to all those that helped by answering questions in the customizing thread. Here goes

My very first custom.

It is the year 2015, the Autobots have finally vanquished the Decepticons. Deep within the planet Optimus and Megatron have engaged in their final battle. With his last ounce of strength Optimus has defeated Megatron and tossed him into a deep pit never to emerge. Unkown to Optimus the deceased Megatron has landed deep within the hole into an unknown substance. As his physical form was melting away the dark Energon that powered his spark his awoken the unknown substance. The spark of Unicron. Unicron, now awake from his slumber, has realized what has happened and emerged to meet the broken and battered Prime. It would be easy to crush Prime now as he is energon depleted, rapidly approaching emergency stasis and matrix had already been drained to put Unicron to sleep some years earlier. In a twist of irony Unicron decided that destroying Prime would be too easy, it would be more fun to pervert the power of the primes to his dark plans.
Arise Nemesis Prime!!
Yes I have very little imagination for story telling but I thought it would be fun to add this to the pics. I have never attempted to repaint a figure before and I really didn’t like the PRID Prime as much as the FE version but for $15 I thought what the hell. Then it hit me that since I already have FE and the entertainment pack I thought I would try and create this.
1) I removed the spring from the gun
2) Used Tamiyia Black, Hobby Colour Flat Red and Sky Blue (couldn’t find Teal)
Having taken a close up of the face just now I didn’t realize how much I missed. I must find my magnifying glass to touch it up.
Please share your thoughts, critiques to let me know what your think. I am sure someone is going to do one much better someday and am not sure I am going to ever do another one (except for PRID Cliffjumper to zombie Cliff jumper). My hats go off to those of you who do this all the time, it is much harder to do than what you think. Enjoy

You know, you might be able to get away with a Gundam pen for the spots on the face you missed. I don't know how well the black shades will match, but the really fine tip might be easier than painting.

Very impressive for your first! The paint work is so smooth and clean. And don't worry about seeing things you missed after you took pics. The camera has a talent for exposing things that need touch ups and happens to all of us.

Actually I didn't even know about gundam pens. I actually used a fine tip sharpie that did the trick. To the eye it looked finished but blown up I could see what I missed. The shades for such small points are hardly noticeable but have misplaced the magnifying glass I purchased. I soon as I find it then I will go back. And thanks to those who responded your feedback was most appreciated. . With any luck I will some board members at the show tomorrow
