Reminder: TFcon 08 Art Contest - Cybertron.CA - Canadian Transformers News and Discussion

Hope everyone is getting something together for the art contest. I'm REALLY excited to see what people bring this year!

Now I want to give you guys a bit of a heads up on a few things going on with this years contest.

Contest entry Deadline is 12:00 pm (noon) on saturday. At that time Judging will begin. the winners will be announced at 1:15 pm.

There are 3 catagories of winners, 2d (1st, 2nd, 3rd), 3D (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and Fan Favourite Overall Art Piece (one winner).

Entries in the 2D category will be evaluated on:
Originality
Lighting/Shadow
Angle of View
Creativity
Balance
Colors

Entries in the 3D category will be evaluated on:
Modeling
Detailing
Originality
Use of Color
Innovative
Neatness

... so, is there going to be provisions for black and white entries? It seems to be discriminatory in favor of color.

I just heard about this, am interested in doing an entry, but my digital art tools will be unaccessible leading up to the con.

You can do a B/W drawing, the color would be replaced by how you shade your piece. If it's just a line drawing, it will be evaluated as the judges see fit.

I would love to have MANY categories instead of just 2, BUT we don't usually have enough entries, and for now, until the con gets a lot bigger, I want to keep it simple.

Log cabins have NOTHING to do with Transformers.

I'm making leftover pizza stubs into a scale model of Polyhex and putting Robot Heroes on all the ramparts.
