depend on box size, if shipping box over 2kg or more than 90cm in size, you have to go EMS shipping. my MP22 UM was 3860 yen shipping at HLJ, no option to use SAL. I'm expecting a big box with 5 figure combiner giftset, hoping for SAL but may have to pay $$ for EMS.

checked Nippon Yasan, either their shipping has really gone up, or this is a 2KG+ package that you need to pay 4700 yen for EMS. yikes. cheapest option is by boat for 3300 yen, but i don't think anyone would want to wait 3 month for one.

most people do not get hit with custom+tax from HLJ. however, it does declare full value of your items so there is always the chance for it.

Thanks I pre ordered from HLJ but they dont show the price most likely because they don't know the weight.

Hit with HLJ customs once out of 7-8 orders. It was two toys together costing more than $200.

Always expect to pay duty/custom/tax whenever you order products from oversea. No different than buying anything in Canada where you have to pay GST/PST/HST.

Again I have to stress that shipping are rate by Japan Post, not the seller. If the package is over size and/or weight limit then it will have to ship with EMS, which costs more but also comes with the benefit tracking and insurance, especially if the item is an expensive one.

While HLJ declare full value of the contents on the mailing label (in Yen), I've only been dinged once on my MP-13, and I order a lot of stuff from HLJ everything month. As long as I keep the shipment under $100 CDN I don't usually get dinged.

You pay for EMS prices, and you get the shipment in about a month (SEA mail speed, which is like half the price of EMS, but you pay EMS prices). Thanks COVID
