Re: GameStop.ca (formerly EB Games) Transformers Sightings and discussion

When your CEO is named C. Cocks, and when the President of your biggest money making division, WOTC, needed to read a wikipedia entry to learn what their biggest product (Magic) is, you kind of get the inkling that some not so good things are about to follow.

I wish I could say I'm surprised at these developments, but I'm not.

I contacted DJC Collectibles and they confirmed Hasbro Canada will not distribute this wave, but they are getting their's from the US. So they are good.

Yikes. Let's hope A3U still gets theirs.

SMH... huge, profitable company somehow can't distribute their own product. Such BS.

Gamestop has the voyagers and leader figs up for preorder, so we know they?re available to Canadian distributors.

Epic fail by Hasbro Canada. I'm not interested in excuses. They dropped the ball big time here. They need to get their shit together. Being a toy collector in Canada is becoming more and more frustrating.

Thanks Tekno.
I knew nothing about WOTC in modern times.

I wonder. Before Bayformers, Transformers seemed to be going strong. Armada was a surprising hit (still surprises me today!) and this carried fwd to the rest of the Unicron Trilogy.
Then late 2006 they came out with the Classics line.

While Bayformers certainly gave Transformers a boost, I think Hasbro was still fine before it.

Yah, I find that weird.
I thought niche toys like Origins Bumblebee, Jazz, and Blue Bluestreak worked fine as store exclusives.
I always assumed that was a winning formula.

So I'm surprised Defcon is a mainline toy.
Then again, the mainline also includes 'new' characters too, and he's new to the non-G1ers.
Ah, who knows.
