Clearly there's a lot of interest in customized Transformers toys and 3D artwork here on this board, and that's awesome. But I'd like see some more love out there for 2D illustration. So I'm throwing the gauntlet down and challenging everyone to get their pencils out and do some drawings!
So here's what I have in mind:
A theme or keyword will be given here every week or so. Everyone who choses to participate will do a Transformers-inspired drawing based on that theme. The theme may be very specific or very general, and everyone will probably have a different interpretation of that theme.
For example, the theme could be something like "Fire". Someone might draw G1 Inferno at the scene of a fire, since he's a fire truck. Someone else might draw Beast Wars Inferno shooting his flame gun. And another person might draw Fireflight because the word fire is in his name. So there's lots of potential to be creative.
It doesn't matter if you know how to draw or if you think you can't. You just have to try!
Any medium is acceptable as long as the result is some kind of drawing. Pencils, ink, markers, Photoshop, even crayons. Whatever you're most comfortable with.
You don't have to use colour and you don't have to draw a background, but that certainly might be a good idea.
You can spend 20 minutes on it or take the whole week. Finish it to whatever degree you want.
The important part is to participate and have fun. We can all support each other and perhaps some new talent can be cultivated. You can indicate in your post if you want your work to be critiqued, so there's no pressure.
But before we start we first need some willing people who are ready to give it a shot. So, anyone interested? Don't let this challenge go unanswered!
Sayonara.
