Re: Unofficial Photographic Archive vol 1 and 2

Originally there was no prices. They were added because someone suggested it. I don't care if they stay or not personally. It only takes a minute to remove them

Re: Unofficial Photographic Archive vol 1 and 2

I think it would be interesting/informative to have approximated suggested retail prices at the time of release. That, I would like. eg. $20 (1984)

If the prices noted are an estimate of current "value", then I would prefer that they not be in there.

But, it wouldn't matter much to me if they were there or not -- I'd still buy the books. Maybe a few sets. One to look through, and another to keep in minty condition.

Re: Unofficial Photographic Archive vol 1 and 2

Thinking about pricing, the retail price is the only fun and interesting element to me.

Awesome project, Brricy you have my support.

I don't mind the idea of original prices, but can live without. I will just love looking at all the pictures, I have that older guide from China, it covers g1 and g2, many of the pics are small and not all the toys are as clean as yours...and even that book I look at every few days!

Can't wait...best wishes I know these types of projects are a LOT of work so thanks for sharing your photos to all fans thru this medium they are tops.

Re: Unofficial Photographic Archive vol 1 and 2

I also like the idea of the original MSRP to be stated (in US dollars, I guess).

Although I see great value in having a price guide 'base' that I can use now and later in life, I also can see that showing a price on the page will bring on a question of "What year is this for?", ultimately dating the book and taking away from it being just an artsy coffee table book (which it seems is what most people want).

Why not please both parties and keep the pages free from value mentions (i.e. original MSRP, ranking, current market value, etc.) and just show the figure and accessories? And at the back of the book (just before/after the index) have a list of all the values per figure. Out of sight, out of mind for those that don't care for it. There for those that want it.

Or, better yet, have a separate 4-page-or so insert listing all the values and sell it separately for a few bucks.

Obviously there was a lot of effort and time to collect as accurate as possible the values of each figure, so it would be a shame not to publish it. Those numbers are worth something to a lot of people.

Fantastic images Brr-icy! Looking forward to the book, I will definitely get one.

Judging by the interest the book is going to be a huge success!

Re: Unofficial Photographic Archive vol 1 and 2

What does this statement mean "US, European and Japanese G1 Transformers"?

But does it also include Takara MPs of these G1 characters, or is it exclusive to only the original vintage G1 toys?

Just wanted clarification...
