Got to go to this after all since wife was released from hospital. Social anxiety hit me hard, so was unable to re-introduce myself to some boardies despite best effort. This was highly unusual and obviously just overreaction to stress of everything lately. My sincere apologies to anyone that I didn't properly acknowledge (even boardies that I bought stuff from.) Hopefully I can get a pass this once.
That personal biz out of the way:
I had a pretty big want list and found almost nothing on it. I did check off one item and also was surprised to find a couple awesome things I wasn't looking for but was glad I found.
1. Mania King - I didn't know this was in North America yet. It's a TERRIFIC figure. The white isn't as stark as it appears in videos online. Knees on mine were fine. Also the only figure I purchased that had no blemishes on any of the paint. Just about the best paint app I've seen. I'd have loved a larger scale figure, but this is a great toy. Highly recommend it. I'd say this is a must have for Galvatron devotees. The packaging is also noteworthy. Really upscale feel to this release.
2. Quakewave - By my count there were only ever 3 in the dealer room. This figure is fantastic. Can hardly wait to score batteries. It did have a couple tiny paint imperfections, but I like this almost as much as MP Soundwave. Very, very nice.
3. Sharkies 3 Pack - Impulse buy and a good one. Can hardly wait to break these bad boys out. I'm in the minority that likes the "leader" color variant. It fits with my GI Joe aesthetic for troop building.
4. RTS Jazz - Long overdue for my classics line.
5. 24th Ann GI Joe Spirit - Hated the one with Slaughter's Marauders so was glad to get Freedom (the Eagle) and a new head for it. I may just use this figure as a stand-in and add some bit of blue somewhere to make it more cohesive.
Thanks to all who set up and made it a great show.
