Hasbro says no to Voyager Breakdown

Why the Hell does Hasbro not listen to what people want. They give us a dozen repaints of the same yellow and black camaro, and will produce figures for new characters with no history, but when we want an existing character in a mold already done by Takara, it's too expensive?

I am so glad that I ordered the Takara one. I see Hasbro getting less and less of my hard earned money with Takara and 3rd party companies getting a whole lot more. Awesome move Hasblow....if you wanted to fail that is. losers.

They'll release it, just be patient. There's gonna be four seasons of the show... that's plenty of time to release him.

Re: Hasbro says no to Voyager Breakdown

It's a real shame, as he looks like a great toy. But this isn't really Hasbro just being "cheap", it's simply out of their budget. They've got budgets for case assortments as well as individual figures, and with their new size classes & lowered parts count, etc, he just wasn't feasable. The cost to make these things is going up, and they've had to adjust both the figures themselves, & prices, to make up for it. Yeah, it really sucks. I'm guessing this is also what happened with the First Edition figures, having to be remade?

I'm pretty sure they will release a "different" version of Breakdown, if you have seen the show, you would know what I'm talking about

"More Bumblebee! More Bumblebee! More Bumblebee! More Bumblebee! More Bumblebee! More Bumblebee! More Bumblebee! More Bumblebee! More Bumblebee! More Bumblebee! More Bumblebee! More Bumblebee! More Bumblebee! More Bumblebee! More Bumblebee!"

Whew ... now that's off my chest ...

I think the real reason this figure has been canceled is because of Breakdown's status on the show. Hasbro doesn't want to 'loose money' on character who is no longer on screen when they can still milk characters who still have screen time.

However, what I believe Hasbro still refuses to recognize is that even if a character is no longer present on-screen, his action figure (providing it's a good mold) will still be bought. Granted, it will be bought primarily by collectors instead of kids, but that does not mean Hasbro's profits will take a significant hit.

I believe the increasingly delayed toylines is the real reason behind this recent crush of cancelations. We did not see our first Prime toys until season 2 when characters are more likely to be killed off in order for new toys/characters to be introduced.

Let's take a quick look back at Beast Wars when the cast of the series was released while the show was on the air. Now a lot has changed since 1996, I am not denying that. What I will say however is that with so many repaints, remolds, and retools of the same characters being released one after another many fans are getting pretty fed up and are turning to different outlets (3rd Party Products) to get their Transformers fix.

Re: Hasbro says no to Voyager Breakdown

If I remember the news right, he was one of three characters Hasbro said maybe no, but at least not in the cards right now. The other I remember was Unicron which I just missed out on. I dropped the P/O for him sense I figured I could pick it up again later if I changed my mind (Stupid I know, I should have kept the hold on him until Sept. and decided then.) and now he's sold out.
