Shipping method BBTS
Hey guys, I'm about to order a few items from bigbadtoystore.com and I was wondering which one of their shipping method is the best. USPS Express Mail or UPS AIR SERVICE
USPS Express Mail
$23.99 plus $3.50 a pound
Usually arrives in 3 to 8 business days - trackable. Contact local customs office for duty and tax information.
UPS AIR SERVICE
$23.99 plus $3.60 a pound
Usually arrives in 2 - 5 days. Brokerage is included. 5% GST, applicable PST, and a $5.85 CAD fee is due at the time of delivery. Additional fees if value over $4300 CAD.
Please share your opinion/experience

Re: Shipping method BBTS
Stay far, far away from ups, they used their own customs brokerage service, and you WILL pay an arm and a leg for it, past experience for me is anywhere from 90-200% of the shipping cost itself

Yeah, avoid UPS shipping to Canada completely.

Re: Shipping method BBTS
UPS is pure balls. They charge you on some make believe system and when you ask them how they determine the fees they say its what is outlined by the CBSA. Then they start quoting BS and when you call them on it, they just quote the same BS. STAY AWAY from UPS!

Re: Shipping method BBTS
I ordered an area rug and a headboard from Home Depot, who ships their deliveries through UPS. Both items were left in the snow in front of my garage. DO NOT GO UPS!

Re: Shipping method BBTS
Thank you guys for the feedback! Another question do you think using the cheapest method is a good idea? USPS Air Mail I know parcel tracking is not offered but is the parcel guaranteed by BBTS in case I don't receive it?

Re: Shipping method BBTS
If it's not trackable, it's not guaranteed by anyone. However BBTS will usually do what they can if there is a problem.
I'd probably pay the extra for trackable via USPS. Anything that crosses the border should be sent USPS.

Here's a better idea, just don't buy anything from BBTS, you will always get hit with extra costs when the parcel arrives regardless of how it was sent to you.

Another thing I won't go for UPS: if no one answer the door during the day, then you have to go to their depot to pick it up. And there is always a long line up @ their depot.
Also, as mentioned already, you will be charged sales tax no matter how much is the declared value. With USPS/CanadaPost you may get lucky. $100 and below seems to be the magic spot for me.

Yeah, I've often gotten lucky with shit under 100 bucks too, at least with USPS. Other than that, UPS can suck my rock johnson any day of the week.
