G1 Season 2 and 3 gap

Like the title says, I hope that Hasbro releases for the 30th Anniversary, a movie type cartoon or a comic explaining and showing what happened in that 20 year between season 2 and 3, like how did Ultra Magnus and co arrived on Earth and so on.

What do you people think?

They actually talked about this on one of the podcasts for Radio Free Cybertron.

Basically there rationale is that it most likely won't happen because:
1- It's expensive to do.
2- The generations figures are selling well without a show to support it

I tend to agree with them. This can work in a comic or even webisodes or something. But not in a full TV show.

They would need full lines around these toys, and then you have the licensing issues. Not to mention, whats the alt modes you would use. At the whole problem that they would be making a show about the past at this point.

So I think G1 fans would enjoy this, but I just don't see Hasbro having a real solid financial reason for doing this.

Maybe a comic. But I am not sure how well Regeneration sold.

I think the Scramble city movie kinda answers a few of these questions.

I would love to contribute to a fan based project based on old G1 art. With all the advacements in technology it shouldn't be that hard to put something like this together

I am graphic designer, good with flash and I have a few characters drawn up. I'd love to hear your ideas.

I was thinking about a story based on a group that Rodimus sends out to capture rogue Cons that way we add new characters to the G1 world. Also it's one way to avoid Alucards licensing issues.

What do you think?

Yeah, its funny, I just listened to that the other day. It was interesting and makes me want to hurry up and get through it all soon. (I've seen some of Season 1 and the Movie in my childhood)

They did say that a simple flash show would suffice to tell the story in their opinion... but that it also wouldn't happen.

The people who make the television decision realize that its easy to keep making new shows to cater to the new wave of 5 year olds, etc.

That's why you see so many Spider-Man shows. That's just the observation made on the podcast anyway. So bringing in 30 year old continuity doesn't make business sense in that regard.

Rodimus wasn't there before season 3.

Cool on the graphic designer!

While I view him as very post-Movie, we could definitely include him. The key would be a definite s2 to movie path with clear milestones defined.
But also keep our minds open to cool ideas that we can fit in.

Maybe nemesis could work.
