Re: YOTH - getting rid of gold - making it silver chrome
Might have to consider picking one up and trying this, providing the London TRU gets any.

Re: YOTH - getting rid of gold - making it silver chrome
Am I the only one who still wants a straight-up re-issue of the TRU exclusive MP10? YotH Prime is not my cup of tea, and as cool as this discovery is, I don't see myself ever getting the figure.

Re: YOTH - getting rid of gold - making it silver chrome
You are not the only one to want a reissue of the original MP-10 Takara or Hasbro. Sure YotH Prime may not be the Optimus Prime you want but it is the same exact mold and for a lot of people that is enough. Buying YotH Prime does not make one's choice in transformers toys to be bad or good. If someone wants the MP optimus prime toy and finds this to be an adequate substitute, at least for the time being, then so be it. I love this mold and soon I will have three versions, MP-10B is on its way.

Re: YOTH - getting rid of gold - making it silver chrome
I gotta think that with the popularity of the figure at some point down the line they'll do a re-release. I'm thinking they may do mp10 with silver chrome, but in yoth's much deeper/darker red and blue...

Hello, I'm the guy who made the disassembly video. FYI, I tried to remove the gold paint with alcohol as the other guy recommended but it did not seem possible to get it all off. After scrubbing for quite some time I bailed. I'm glad I went the re-painting route.
There are some pics of my Prime components painted silver here if you don't feel like watching the video all the way through...

That looks way better with the chrome colour in my opinion.
