Re: Reproduction G1 Parts
Gaetz: I've always stuck to the rule of "2 shades off" when reproducing parts. having repro'ed alot of missles over the years, i stick to that as well as working in some marker. "like the R you mentioned"
and i'll firstly state, no nothingi do is injected, it's all resin cast. injection imho for under 1000 peices just get's too pricy imho. i've cast and repro'ed stuff several times where i wanted only like 5 copies, with costs usually coming down to like $10 a part. but that was also not using gang mold techniques as I didn't need 50+ copies.
hell I reproed the head for my "classics powermaster prime" custom, all in said pretty sure the paint cost more then the head did.
just my 2c. want more info let me know

Re: Reproduction G1 Parts
Some of the weapons I wish I had more of as these are some of the best looking ones that can be done in one to three pieces and require no assembly. - Generations Blurr's sniper rifle and pistols
- Generations Drift's swords
- Generations Grimlock's sword and shield
- Generations Ultra Magnus's sword and gun
- Also Rotor blades for various helicopter transformers like Universe Springer/Blades/Evac and Movie Blackout/Grindor/Whirl. Those things go missing like there's no tomorrow.

Re: Reproduction G1 Parts
Only replying with negativity because you ask for people's opinions/interest.
I actually am against repro-G1 parts entirely. Anything that can be cast off as a real vintage piece or slipped in to 'complete' a figure, majorly raising its value. Even if it is stamped to ID it as unauthentic reproduction, it takes a well educated collector to realize this, and thus repro-parts inevitably become (purposely and not purposely) intertwined with the real deal, and this can lead to unscrupulous selling for rare parts, i.e. Headmaster Jr. antennas, Fort Max's guns, Headmaster accessories, Full Tilt's gun, etc., which to me pollutes/contaminates the vintage world.

Honestly, who'd be dumb enough to believe Hosehead's tiny little guns as legit if they were red? Or Hardhead's handguns if they were colored with Highbrow's shade of blue?

On the other hand, who would want them if they were so differently coloured as to look ridiculous with their proper bot (in the case of Hardhead's guns in Highrbow blue).

Customizers.
With so many junkers out there, many of them will never be considered "mint" EVER again. Even if you took them all apart, cleaned them, replace all rusted screws, and even put fresh ReproLabels on them.
Another of my lame examples...I've always hated Twin Twist's gun, I'd rather give him a blue Topspin gun.
Instead of reproducing exact copies of G1 weapons and parts, wouldn't it be easier to counterfeit paper money?

One may receive a Cease and Desist Order vs Jail Time.
Just for Humor. It would be so much easier to repro almost any plastic part these size and varying complexity. From anywhere, as little as a few hundred dollars investment to a few grand. Just depends if you want to do it your self, or have a company do it.
I will not be surprised if someone else beats me to the punch as this is the last project I have on a extensive list.

I wasn't suggesting to paint these repro parts after. Just like I am not painting mint, unbroken G1 parts for my customs.
For customizers, G1 Hardhead and Chromedome's guns are roughly the same length, why not let them have each others weapons? We've gotten that KO Headmaster set, and ReproLabels is readily available.
See how easily we've made use of Chromedome's junker bodies with Toxin...
A lot of G1 figures have the standard 5 mm peg for their handle. Why would anyone be opposed to having G1 weapons in different colors for custom G1s, or even modern figures?
G1 Blitzwing can hold UNI 2.0 Nightstick...I believe FOC Ultra Magnus can hold both G1 Perceptor's gun and launcher...
What's wrong with G1'ing up modern figures as well?
Unless there are a lot more people wanting to sub in repros into their collection...
