Which side have you chosen without knowing?
I was just looking over my collection (40 figurines and counting) and my very supporting wife asked me why do you have more Decepticons figurines as oppose to Autobot? Hmmmm...and I got thinking; did I choose a side without knowing???
After carefully looking over my collection, I notice that I am paying more attention to the Decepticons figurines because of either the robots style, colors schemes, weaponaries, etc...
Have been drawn to a side without knowing?

Re: Which side have you chosen without knowing?
I don't know which has more, I'd guess they're about even, maybe a slight to the Autobots just because there are more Autobot toys than Decepticon toys

Re: Which side have you chosen without knowing?
Most of my collection is packed away, except for what I've managed to accumulate over the past year. Of that I have way, way more Autobots. And the reason why is quite simple: There just are more Autobots being released in recent times. At least more interesting Autobots.
Look at what's in stores now. Generations has Drift, Optimus and Bumblebee vs Thrust. HftD has a new Ironhide and Bumblebee vs recolors Ravage and Jetblade. The bad guys are outnumbered.
Most toy lines skew more towards the heroes and have less villains. Transformers has actually not followed this tradition, but perhaps things have changed.
I'd rather have more of a balance but it just hasn't worked out that way yet.

Re: Which side have you chosen without knowing?
As a kid, I think I purposely tried to keep the sides even. Though that wasn't hard. I mostly bought the toys of the characters in the show and Beast Wars was pretty good with keeping the sides even. And if one side did start out numbering the other, I'd make someone switch sides, or have them captured, or send them on a "world tour".
Today, who knows? But probably more Autobots than Decepticons. Probably mostly due to Takara, and Hasbro, but mostly Takara IMO. Just look at all the imported series. RiD: 21 Autobots vs 11 Predacons/Decepticons. Armada: 9 Autobots vs 7 Decepticons + who know how many Mini-Cons. Energon: 18 Autobots vs 14 Decepticons. Cybertron: 21 Autobots vs 14 Decepticons. That's just going by show characters. You know that they repaint them all the time. Thus doubling the numbers and magnifying the issue.

Re: Which side have you chosen without knowing?
More Autobots than Decepticons in the Classics/Universe/Generations line, so I end up with more good guys there.
Movie Verse I have more Decepticons for similar reasons.

Re: Which side have you chosen without knowing?
NO! Don't make me choose! Sides must remain Even 1-1 Ratio, For Every Autobot I buy I must buy a Decepticon so that the collection is even, must resist looking at RID Spychangers... Must resist... *Sees Spychangers once again and their total scewing of the plan of a balanced RID Collection.* ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHH!
*Head Explodes*
