I Have Big News
For those of you that know me or not, I've been very absent in the last few months. Even missing going to TFcon this year. Which was to be a major high point of this summer. As this was the year I had been saving up for.
Flash back, for some insight:

In hindsight, it wasn't so much an issue but, but how do I talk about it with out giving it away.
We just had the Ultrasound. We're (my wife is) just starting the second-Tri. For those of you that have been concerned to why I was selling off a good section of my collection and acting werid. Above is your answer.
But all is well, I can start collecting again....

Re: I Have Big News
Congrats! Our third (and definitely last) was born on August 15th. My oldest is 5 and his newborn days seem a lifetime away now.
I won't dispense a jeremiad of advice and anecdotes as it's best to experience your little one's first days/years on your terms (OK, I will say take everyone's advice about parenting with a grain of salt and never care about what other people think about you or your children), but I will say take care of your lady as best as you can 'cos she's in for some physical and emotional changes that will fascinate frustrate her/you. (Hint: never tell her she's getting fat and literally bend over backwards to make her comfortable and happy or suffer the short end of the stick that is her hormones).
So Godspeed and good luck, daddy! If you ever doubt your ability as a caregiver/parent just pay attention to how your heart feels then you are doing the right thing.
Oh...and be as selfish as you can with each other before baby comes. See friends, go out for dinner, watch a movie, take advantage of your own personal designated driver (your preggers wife) and live it up. 'Cos when junior comes he/she will want all your time and energy and you won't be seeing anyone for a while...

Kiss transformers goodbye, kiss gaming goodbye, kiss clean clothes goodbye, kiss a home-cooked meal goodbye etc.

Re: I Have Big News
congrats man. while what some others have said about personal time is true, its not like its a death sentence for your personal life. priorities change, but at the end of the day, make sure you always make time for your relationship- I've seen a few friends who had kids, kids hit high school, freedom somewhat returns, only to find the couple thinking "wow, my spouse has changed and I don't know if I want to be with that person anymore". All that said, kids are fantastic (expecting our 4th in Feb, which will definitely be our last lol)

Re: I Have Big News
Thanks everyone. Its been a great day. Just got back from a friends place. They just had theres back in july. The best thing they told me was. Make your self go out. Don't lock your self in. You can still enjoy life while at the same time show your kid there is a world out there.
