$50 would be my maximum for it but i would buy from a local seller. having rts laser prime as a stand in sucks. its an okay figure but not the main prime for a dsiplay.

Re: must haves for a classic collection
The only ones I'm really desperate for is Optimus Prime and United Megatron.
You should try for the original cast that crashed and instead of getting classics Grimlock use Masterpiece Grimlock

Agree wholeheartedly, especially with the use of MP Grimlock.

I honestly like this Soundwave figure better than any other version (including the Music Label ones), but I guess it all comes down to opinion. Love those rib claws.

Pretty much this. Anything that fits into the neo-G1/G3 label is what I go for.

Re: must haves for a classic collection
Quite honestly, despite the lack of a gun (though you can make his jet-ski into a wrist mounted taser weapon) Deluxe Bumblebee is a great little figure. And his WFC counterpart (though keeping the feet aligned in vehicle mode pisses me off) is great too.
I mean, it all depends if you are going for characters or if you're going for really great action figures.
I know what's on my list, most of the scientist/engineer figures like Wheeljack, Perceptor, Thunderwing (IDW) and Starscream to name a few, that and main cast, but there are a few to pass over. Mostly repaints, or figures before their repaints.
I mean, sure, Nemesis Prime and Ultra Magnus are cool, but unless you want to get them and Optimus and pose them together, or get the 3rd party stuff for them, Nemesis and Magnus could be passed over.
Also, there are some of the Legends class figures that are more or less borrowed from other lines, line a few from Animated, and recolours of Cybertron Hotshot. Pass.
I'd pass on Deluxe Galvatron, mainly because he just doesn't live up to expectations. Had he been released as a Voyager, it would have worked.
It really is up to you and what your goal actually is.
