Re: How would you rate the Masterpiece KOs?
Maybe the Ko's will bring the overpriced MP's back in line?... MP10 comes to mind here Hasbro ...can't see takara getting out of the MP market (or orther transformes for that matter) like all the other Ko's out there of THEIR toys they still keep steaming along producing new stuff and leaving the left overs to Ko producers again it all falls to demand, price and most importantly here availability (in quantity)... something hasbro seems not to have a grasp of conserning releases of any of there TF toy lines so again if these Ko's ( don't own any at present) are good quality and affordable at least it keeps the tf fandom alive and one can always upgrade to the original if found for reasonable coin.

Yah, they should. KO company should get on it before Takara does it. I don't think anyone disagree with that, even those who says not to buy KO previously would probably jump on that

Re: How would you rate the Masterpiece KOs?
I have the originals and was actually debating if I should get the KOs and display them in vehicle mode. But of course, with limited funds and a lot of new TF/3P products being released in the future, I have yet to pull the trigger. (Might be a good thing?)

Re: How would you rate the Masterpiece KOs?
I have the red alert KO only bc the after market price was ridiculously stupid and I don't buy on speculation. It was okay. The knew joints were floppy as hell thanks for RPA that reviews for tf direct purposely hiding that fact. It just doesn't come together nicely either. The gun didn't fit. The head didn't close. The siren and fake wheels pop off easily. In conclusion, I won't get another one. I'll just wait for the rerelease as they are bound to happen with pretty much every figure so far.

can't agree with you more. the only thing kos are good for are kit bashing and giving to little kids.

Re: How would you rate the Masterpiece KOs?
I have Sideswipe and Red Alert KO, SS is perfect IMO. Red Alert however, not so much. The clips that connect the hood piece to the windshield are broken. Not an issue for bot mode, but his hood now flops around in alt mode.

Re: How would you rate the Masterpiece KOs?
I buy 3rd party stuff but not KOs. Mainly because the quality hasn't changed but the prices have quadrupled. Even 10 years ago in the Binaltech/Alternators era, one could get a diecast KO in pretty much any paint for $5-$10. If the prices stayed reasonably close to that, I probably would buy KOs

I guess you are just unlucky. None of the KOs I got are like that, they are just a little bit loose compare to the ones from Takara. Basically they are almost identical, but half price. I got my Sideswipe and Red Alert 38 dollars each I think. I can't even use the word floppy to describe them, it is just a slightly loose compare to the Takara ones. I think buying KO is fine, if no one buy KOs, there will be no KOs. Just like if no one buy Takara MPs, there will be no future MPs. There just need a little bit of a balance that's all, get some of this, a little bit of that.

Re: How would you rate the Masterpiece KOs?
wouldn't own one if someone paid me to take it. the amount of lies and "they're just as good" or "they're from the same molds" bs that people fling around to justify them is nuts. there are mold differences, therefore reverse engineered.
at the end of the day, it's your money, but the more you support the crap, the less takara ones sell, the less that sell, eventually the less that get made in the first place, driving the prices of real ones up on the secondary market.
the prices of the real mps on release (if you shop smart) are very decent, $60-70 shipped at worst is all you should be paying, shop around, don't take the first one you see for sale.
