MISB, MIB, Complete etc
I tried looking around for a guide on this stuff but I probably really suck at it or it isn't out there.
I'm going to be posting a ton of my collection in the BST forum but I'm not sure what to list some of them as.
MISB - Is this Mint toy in a MINT sealed box? how would I list them if the box has some shelf wear but otherwise it is sealed?
MIB - Is this a mint toy in ANY condition box? A lot of my figures are in mint condition but the box isn't in mint condition.
Keep an eye out for my sale thread!

Re: MISB, MIB, Complete etc
Just use either, depending on if the box has been opened or not.
Then be specific about the condition afterwards.
For me, MISB & MIB mean the toy is mint and the box is in great condition as well. If the box isn't then still use MISB/MIB, and specify the box condition.

Re: MISB, MIB, Complete etc
MISB is sealed, doesn't have to be mint box, you pics will tell that
MIB is a toy in a box, mostly a mint toy, some people will list any toy in a box

Re: MISB, MIB, Complete etc
MISB just means sealed box, never opened with a mint toy inside.
MIB just means the box is opened and the toy inside is still mint.
You have to talk about box quality separately...most people use their own variation of the AFA grading scale to make things somewhat easier.

Re: MISB, MIB, Complete etc
If not told about poor condition of box, I would back out as well.

I totally agree with this description.
Of the two, I find that the term "mint in box" is more often misused. Just because someone happens to have the box doesn't automatically mean that the toy inside is "mint".
It's far less common but it's also possible to have a sealed box where the toy itself isn't mint (sun damage, visible damage that occurred during assembly, etc) but generally speaking most people would accept a toy in a sealed box as "mint" (MISB) again unless the toy inside is obviously not mint, for whatever reason.

Re: MISB, MIB, Complete etc
I take MISB to mean "mint in sealed box". That's as good as it gets in term of a new item.
MIB means (to me, anyway) "mint in box". The toy has been opened, but not played with and contains all the stuff as a MISB. I don't hear a lot about MIB stuff (possibly due to the Men in Black...so beware)
CIB is something I see all the time, I take it to mean "Complete in Box". Then it's just a toy with a box. Could have all the case candy, could not. You're best to inquire. Ebay is loaded with stuff like this, and unless you're a box collector (and a not in mint condition box) then I'd steer clear.
The only reason I buy MISB is not to keep it sealed, but because it's the best chance you'll get a mint toy. Sure, it could have a manufacturer defect but I'll take that chance over someone's idea of what 'mint' is on ebay.
Hope this helps?

I wish more people used this term. Mint in box is very misleading and totally inappropriate for what many people are selling as MIB on eBay.

Re: MISB, MIB, Complete etc
Caveat emptor.
This is why it's important to ask the right questions.
Someone might not be purposefully trying to mislead you but may have a totally different opinion on what mint or any of these terms mean.
