Merit Vs Cons of Joinning Transformers Club?

I've heard alot on here about the cons of being a Canadian and being a member of the Official Transformers Club. I'm just woundering is it worth shelling out the 50 plus dollars to become a member. I'm really only intrested in becoming a member to get the runabout and runamuck.

So basically i'm looking for some one to say: just go for it. yes spend that money. You''d be crazy not to... or some other BS like that.

theres nothing wrong with being a canadian member, except:

- your membership fee will cost more compared to local US people
- everything you buy from them, including their exclusives, will for sure get taxed at the border. freebie figure should not be affected though

if you can live with the above 2 issues, then sure go ahead and be a member

Re: Merit Vs Cons of Joinning Transformers Club?

Being a club member is actually pretty good, I've never been charged for anything I bought from them except my Botcon sets. As for the magazine, expect it a month or 2 later than the US. Otherwise it's alright.

i think the biggest pro is member pricing on club figures.

Re: Merit Vs Cons of Joinning Transformers Club?

I joined up the first year, didn't continue my membership. The $80 per year was just too much for my wallet when I wasn't buying anything from them (they didn't have that set up then) and I was just getting 6 magazines/comics along with a book of classified US ads, and 1 exclusive scout class figure.

I see more benefit to it now for Canadians, but for what I'd use it for, I wouldn't get my $80 worth. But then that's just me.

Be my guest and try it. If it doesn't wow you in your first year, just don't renew your membership. Easy as that and no hard feelings.
