bps cured bw transmetal megatron

a simple mish mash of armada predacon and what I could salvage from a crumbled bw transmetal megatron.
those who have the north American version know not to try transforming him for fear of the brown plastic crumbling or shattering.
now,problem solved
he's also now been repainted to be more show accurate as the toy is metallic brown,whereas in the show,he's definitely more of a metallic black.

left=captain crumble torso
middle= finished custom
right= armada predacon skids

......"yeeeeessssss"........

Looks lovely. Heh. I managed to acquire a solid TM Megatron a couple years back... never going to transform him.

And fully expect him to be a crumbly mess whenever I pull him back out of storage.

Re: bps cured bw transmetal megatron

Did this a while ago, got an extra Predacon especially for it. I ended up swapping ALL of Megatron's brown plastic parts. Still haven't painted it yet, though, and it'll be a while before I get around to that. The Megatron dino head seems to be a little loose in dino mode on mine now, but beggars can't be choosers.

Anyways, how did you solve the different size issue between the elbow joints? I just overtightened to compensate, but I'm hoping you might have a better fix I can incorporate.

Also, did you manage to find a decent way to swap the "belt" part that connects the tail in dino mode? The waist connection sizes are different between the two. I forget how I managed mine, but I remember it being incredibly difficult.

Excellent custom, and the black looks WAY better than the original Megs figure ever did.

Any plans to transfer some of the engine details from Predacon to Megatron?

Re: bps cured bw transmetal megatron

thanks guys!!!

@shepp, I took the easier route.
first I planned to swap the head but the minute I turned the head on the original,the neck promptly snapped.
when I disassembled the original waist,that snapped without a thought.
in the end,i transferred all the original's metallic gold,metallic chrome purple and the rollerskates over to predacon.
for the difference in joint size at the forearms,a light coating of clearcoat nail polish solved that.originally I had a thick coat but ended up sanding it down a bit as it was too tight.
for the stock tail connector chunk,i ended up knocking out the pins on both and swapping the original over.
same goes for the shoulder armor and back fan bits.
i'm probably not going to transfer engine details over as my main intention was to have a stock looking "transformable" tm megs,if anything,just a touch more show accurate.
