KO G1 Constructicons worth buying?

Saw these on craigslist the other day:

Should I 'splurge' and snap these up for the asking price of $20?

I typically loathe KO's but I've always wanted G1 Devastator.

Anyone own this set and can comment if it's any good?

Tough call. If this were 4-5 years ago, I'd say go for it.

However, since then, the plastic quality on these sets has gone waaaaay downhill. They used to be quite good for the price, but now I worry if you'll be unsatisfied with their colouring and durability.

If you think that $20 is something you're willing to pay for them, seeing as they are one of the sets that has close to the same scale and colouring as the originals (and if Im not mistaken, comes with the combiner pieces), go for it. I'd see if you could argue them down to 12-15 bucks though, which is what I've seen them for in stores.

Myself? I prefer the miscoloured dollarama set.

i have the exact same set still misb.trust me,its not worth anywhere near 20 bones.heck,i'll send you the set i have for 5 bucks plus shipping if you want, but it's definately not worth it.alot of the plastic used in it seems like "recycled" plastics, and even then it wasnt cleaned up enough before they started molding the parts.the "disco colored"devastator set that "aernaroth"mentions is a way better quality plastic, albiet in funky colors, but atleast it wont break on you the first time you transform it.

$20 is too much. $10 absolute tops.

The quality is pretty poor.

Hmmm...that explains why the seller got back to me so fast when I offered $15 for the set...it's not even worth that much!

I think I'll pass thanks to your insight, 'Aernaroth' and 'chans formers'.

I'll have to keep an eye out for the multi-coloured KO version.

Anyone have a picture of "Discostator"?

Yeah, 12-15 bucks was a lot more fair back when the plastic quality wasn't garbage. Exactly how bad is it? Im afraid I've shied away from them once I noticed the plastic had changed for the worse.

I originally read that as discolored, then went back and re-read it, and I'm glad I did.

Discostator is a great name for him. I've been calling him Dollarstator.

OK, um...are you referring to the green KO set that I posted about or the "Discostator" set that has been mentioned? 'Cos if you like the green set maybe I might still pick it up and take my chances...

i think he means the discostator. mixmaster is black, scrapper is red, bonecrusher is purple, longhaul is dark green, hook is light blue and scavenger is puke yellow.but the plastic quality in this set is by far night and day compared to the one that guys trying to pawn off onto you for 20 bones.
