Since there's a beer thread here... I went to my local imported beer store for my Warsteiner fix and they don't hold it anymore!! I almost cried and threw a fit!

I've been liking brown ale lately - Newcastle when I can get it, Big Rock Warthog when I can't (definitely prefer it to Trad). A nice crispy Stella is ok from time to time. I don't get Moose any more, kinda went off it. If I'm drinkin' cheaper beer, I'll go with Kokanee before anything else. If I'm drinkin' cheapest beer, I'm not drinkin'.

Keith's is good, but don't ever go on the Disney-style tour they got out in Halifax, it'll put you off it for years. (Dangit I wanted to see the industrial processes, not a couple of douchebags in costumes singin' Stan Rogers.)

Guinness
Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA
Tankhouse Ale.

That's just off the top of my head. Many of these are acquired tastes (especially the scotch ales and IPAs). However, once you start down this path, you will never go back to Kokanee, Canadian, Stella, Keiths, or any of that generic shit they call "beer." Real men don't drink that stuff. And never touch any beer with "lime" in the name. haha! Seriously, the Phillips Chocolate Porter is the best. Everyone that tries it, loves it. Even people who hate beer, they like it. It's a good place to start. I usually have my beer fridge stocked with those listed above. I particularly love ESBs and Porters.

For any Vancouverites that are looking for a great beer store, check out Brewery Creek on Main and 15th. Best liquor store in town for anything not found at BC liquor stores or Signature liquor stores. Brewery creek is for beer you can't find anywhere else.

They have a whole bunch of beers on tap, most of this stuff you can't find anywhere else, and they are always switching their beer up, so every time you go there, there's something new.

Ha! Oh, you can get trashed on this stuff. Some of it can go pretty high in alcohol content, well beyond the standard. All these beers truly have flavor. So you can get trashed in flavor country.
