There definitely is something lacking about these five robots. IMO, they did very good managing all three modes
with the limited resources they had. Now, I have nothing to back this up, but come on. We all know that the recent Generations figures use less (or lesser) plastic and in some cases feel kind of...cheap. The same applies to these toys as well and it shows.
Go back a few years and look at Classics Astrotrain. There's a triple changer done right. And it feels whole...not shallow like the Combaticons.
The designers did what they could with what they were given, I'd say. One thing I think they should've have left out that maybe could've helped some is the ability to have each robot turn into a leg and an arm. I'd sleep just as well at night if Swindle could only become a leg. Who needs this scramble city craziness, anyway.
