A Mission Accomplished

Just a little piece of good news I'd like to share. When I started collecting Transformers 9 or so years ago, I really only had one goal: to collect all of the main G1 combiners (up to the Seacons, so basically all the ones I knew about as a kid).

A variety of factors explain why it's taken so long, such as starting to collect other figures and taking about 4 years off from collecting, but as luck would have it I started again last year, when both Predaking and Piranacon were reissued, and just now in the mail I received a complete G1 Stunticons set and a metal-chested Swindle.

So now I've finally achieved that initial objective.
And, bonus, I have the metal versions of all the Protectobots and Combaticons.

What collecting missions have you accomplished?

Re: A Mission Accomplished

I have completed WFC, haha!

My goal is to complete 84-87' - I have 72 so far. I started in Oct 2009.

I am 3 shy of completing Animated (no repaints). I was down to 1, Cliffjumper, but I forgot about Ratbat and have decided I want Samurai Prowl (anyone got one cheap?).

Classics - I am currently short Cliffjumper, Grapple and the future releases. Keep in mind I only collect classics that reflect G1 84-87.

I want to try and wrap up Animated soon, pretty easy goal I think.

Re: A Mission Accomplished

I have a complete collection on Takara Masterpiece editions. When MP-01L and MP-05 are released it will just add more to my collection. MP-01L will just inform me of the next addition is required to keep it going.

I am also trying to comlete my Marvel comics TF releases.
I currently have 1-68 and all the add ons.
TF Vs GIJoe 1-4
TF Universe 1-4
TF Headmasters 1-4
TF The Movie 1-3

Re: A Mission Accomplished

I recently completed the Headmasters collection (including Scorponok and Fort Max)

It's pretty tough to track these guys down at a reasonable price.

Glad I'm done though, I'm moving onto combiners now...although I only need 4 to complete that collection (Superion, Abominus, Bruticus and Menasor).

Re: A Mission Accomplished

I have every mold of Alternator and Masterpiece (no repaints, just one of each original mold)... that's good enough for me.

Re: A Mission Accomplished

I'm only 1 short of the Alternator line up (one version of each mold). Just need Rumble.

I also need 1 more alternity (skywarp/thundercracker/starscream) to complete that line up as well. Again only one verion of each mold is necessary.

Re: A Mission Accomplished

I have two collection goals that I have achieved.

First of all, not countin Universe 2.0 or Generations I have every single Classic release, with exception to Masterpiece Starscream, the Botcon Exclusives and Pepsi Prime. But seeing as how, with exception to Masterpiece Starscream, the exclusives are naturally not Mass Retail items I consider Classics complete.

Secondly, with the purchase of Rapid Run several years ago or so, I have completed the RID Show Characters collection, with albeit two exceptions. I don't have any representations of T-AI and I have yet to acquire Brave Maximus, but other than that, I have every character that appeared on the show and a few who have not.

Once I get the rest of the Store Exclusives and a few other items I'll have a complete RID Collection as well, but it isn't an immediate goal to complete, it's one of those long term goals that doesn't bother me if it takes a while to finish.

I once had all of the '85 Cars through the Hasbro Re-Issues, but since I wanted to replace them with the Japanese versions and sold off the Commemorative Series stuff I'm down to only Smokescreen and Skids.

I really wish I could get back and get all of the Encores and Book Style Re-Issues at a reasonable price this year... Sadly I may have to wait several years before I can pull that off.
