We haven't had a good clearance in years. If they don't sell, retailers just ship'em off to Winners/Marshals/Homesense or back to Hasbro Canada for a credit or some BS like that.

I mean I haven't even seen much at Winners or the other discount outlets in quite some time, I was amazed that I got my Studio Series RotF Megatron from there.

If this Price Increase BS is related to the new governmental carbon tax in most provinces, all I have to say is good job Federal Government, you just made getting groceries a luxury purchase.

Hasbro's policy is not to take back unsold stock. You bought it, you got it. If it doesn't sell, it goes either trashed or offloaded to a Marshall's or some such. They are wayyy too arrogant for their own good and as sales slow from their greed they will need to adjust, or better yet, get rid of the dead weight, like Goldner and Warden.

Re: Price hike for 2020?

This thread is terrifying to read. I boycotted all but one figure in the TLK line because of the price hike (the exception was Scorn, who I nabbed during a TRU 50% sale a year and a half later). I eventually gave in when Siege turned out to be a fantastic line, and even nabbed a few Studio Series. I’m the kind of person who usually waits for sales, but most of these sales are slap-on-the-wrist ones and they feel worthless with how miserable stock has been lately.

And now Walmart wants MORE? A $45 Voyager is utterly ridiculous. Just two years ago POTP Voyagers were still ringing up at $30. I can’t believe this.

At this point I may just save up for when TFCon rolls around.

Ya I may just quit TF's altogether. Getting fed up with the hobby. There are much cheaper collecting alternatives to spend my hard-earned money on such as Diecast (Hot Wheels) or some sports cards.

Meanwhile, collectors are buying 3rd party $60 Legends by the bucket...

Re: Price hike for 2020?

I can confirm in store the price has gone up for Studio Series Voyagers. We checked Siege and they're still alright.
