Re: If you could turn back the clock and start your collection over

I wouldn't have bought the "on sale" MP Diaclone repaints, because I'll never really use them on display.

If I could turn the clock 5 years from now, I would have gotten MP-10 at TRU.

I started collecting around thrilling 30, no regrets. One thing I'll change is how I collect. I enjoy the thrill of the hunt but I would buy all online.

Re: If you could turn back the clock and start your collection over

It all started with MP Soundwave around 4 years ago and it was pretty intense at first, I had no focus. I even ended up buying some of the Kre-O sets

I wanted to complete G1 and thought I would never get there at MP scale since I did not know about 3rd party at the time. I started collecting CHUG to have a full G1 line-up, but now I regret that since I'm pretty close at MP scale anyway.

Re: If you could turn back the clock and start your collection over

Definitely. If I knew 5 years ago about what was going to get produced down the road up until today, I would have definitely just stuck with MP-10, MP-13 as there is a special place in my heart for Soundwave, and the FT dinobots and I would've stopped there with MP scale figures.

I did not expect MP scale to become the fad that it is today, and once I got FT Quakewave and MP-17, it started this trap of filling out the ranks for both factions and I regret them all. As nice as they are, they take up way too much space and has grown much too costly. For the same amount of money, I could have had a much more diversified and fuller cast of characters in CHUG scale to display. Especially now with how much more well-developed the legends scale has become with the rise of Iron Factory, DX9, etc., this is a FUN and financially viable scale to get into which amplifies my regret about all the space my MP figures are taking up (and in hindsight, all the money I spent there when I could've had many more CHUG or legends figures) but can't bring myself to let them go. #FirstWorldProblems

As more new stuff gets announced for production, I constantly hear myself saying "that's cool, but pity it's not a voyager or deluxe. I hope someone resizes that". KBB MP-10V and the WeiJiang oversized headmasters are an amazing answer to my prayers in that regard, for example.

Re: If you could turn back the clock and start your collection over

Generally avoided movie stuff. I just find it sort of meh now.

My tastes change over the years, I mean I wasn't into technorganic stuff but now I am. And in a few years I might be disinterested in titanmasters.

I now treat my collection as toys, since having a kid. Got rid of most collector stuff. Things change with time.
