Yeah that's true, which makes this only a little over priced. I based my deluxe value on the CW and not the TR.

Re: Is too expensive?
If you have to ask, then you already know (deep down inside) the answer is 'yes'.

Re: Is too expensive?
Thankfully, they will likely drop in price pretty quick. The box they are all in has to be fairly big... and things that take up alot of shelf space tend to get reduced quicker.

It is a good point that Arcee isn't a toy you're going to find for $20. She's still on BBTS, but factoring in exchange and shipping, it's going to end up 40-50. You can't find any of these toys outside of MAYBE Magnus on shelves now, so you have to factor in shipping.
$200 is a STEEP price, sure, but at the same time, all good. Buy it, don't, wait. I'm hoping for a price drop but I'll probably pull the trigger when our student loans come in and we get our budget in order. =D

Thanks for reminding me BBTS still had Arcee (and Chromia to boot). I missed out on both of those the first time around, then tacked on a Gen Brainstorm (came to about $100 CAN including shipping, hope there's no duty with air mail :/). I have all of the others in the set and I'm satisfied with what I have already.
However, if you missed out on all of the figures the first time around, and you might consider getting this set in person.
Springer's one of the best Gen figures, Ultra Magnus is the best non-3rd party and non-masterpiece figure of the G1 character (although I would have liked some kind of vehicle storage spot for Minimus Ambus), and the others are pretty solid.
If you're up for taking risks, wait for it to go on sale. At the current price, it should shelf warm for a bit.

Re: Is too expensive?
Personally, I feel TF's and Star Wars have become too expensive for what they are worth.
3-3/4 black, 20? WTF? A Kinderegg has more volume of a toy.
A lot of the TF are repaints or eventual repaints, hollow and designs left to be desired, imo, so yeah, for their value I find them over-priced these days. I dunno. Maybe it's the collecting in me wearing off or I'm just tired of what Hasbro is offering. Honestly, aside from Gnaw, Kickback and Trypticon, I'm not really excited for anything.

Re: Is too expensive?
I get the hollow parts part, but redecos and repaints have been a thing since the start. Many generations redecos are tributes to G1 redecos. Even most G1 toys were redecod and repackaged diaclone toys.

Re: Is too expensive?
I like the set, but I prefer Titans Return Blurr instead of Generations Classic Blurr. Plus, if they're releasing a post-movie Heroic Autobots box set, they should have included Hot Rod too.

Mm. Maybe. But this is a series. Planet of junk was the first 86 movie tribute set. Then cyclonus + sweeps. Then Optimus vs Megatron. And this. They wouldn't repeat.
That said, it would make more sense to have the junkions with springer, arcee, and blurr, hot rod with kup... Eh.
