I'm getting tired of lazy questions. Anyone else?
This is something I've been seeing more and more on the boards and especially in Facebook groups.
People asking questions that they could easily answer for themselves.
"Will/are any Canadian online retailers be carrying figure (X)?"
"Why isn't character (X) part of this team anymore?"
"I just found this figure at a garage sale/flea market/etc. Who is it and how much is it worth?"
These are just a few examples of what I'm talking about.
Stop being so damn lazy and do your own leg work! Click the links to the right, go to eBay, use the Wiki, use Google, READ A BOOK!!
Is this how you did/are getting through school or work? By getting everyone else to do the work for you?
Am I alone in this?

Re: I'm getting tired of lazy questions. Anyone else?
You definitely aren't alone in regards to this.
Less applicable to this forum/fandom, I see on other forums:
"Can someone tell me how to mod/do/fix this?"
when a simple search would've yielded all sorts of threads with that kind of tutorial.
And then it's often followed by:
"Can you link me to a Youtube video instead? I don't do text/picture instructions."

The "who is this" question always drives me nuts. The resource page on tfw2005 is one click away. Come on man.

Kids these days... back in my day you had to walk uphill both ways to your friend's house to ask him about the new toy you got! And if you both didn't know you just dealt with it *and more old person ramblings*
But yeah, everytime I see those questions my first response is always "google it lazy ass... Jesus"

I'm there with you, but I'm sure I'm also guilty of doing just this
I think it's just human nature to ask questions to groups with the same interest with the assumption someone else has also gone through the leg-work to get an answer.

I think some of these lazy questions are asked to spark up conversation topics. I don't mind.

Re: I'm getting tired of lazy questions. Anyone else?
There is nothing wrong with people asking question like that, since they do not know the answer. I remember if I didn't know something I would ask somebody for help. Yes they could google but it's much easier if you ask somebody cause you can get a direct answer.
Also, I tend to see a lot of people answer a question with go check google. I find those people are really the annoying ones when they could just answer it in seconds instead of saying check google. Can you imagine if you walk up to somebody to ask then directions and they answer you question with check google you lazy s**t. The whole world would be a mess.

Well if you're walking up to someone while carrying a new fangled cell, vs someone like me who currently has an old phone where it's primary function is phone and texting.
Or you never know, you could have walked up to a tourist who already don't know where they are. Plus they don't want to sound like a tourist, so they probably try to sound like a local.

Re: I'm getting tired of lazy questions. Anyone else?
Some answers are difficult to find, and have obscure sources. I don't have a problem with people asking those questions. Eg. How many versions of Optimus Prime are there?
But other times. If you can type in one sentence or one word into google and find the answer on the first page, I think that's lazy. In fact, sometimes typing up a post takes longer than doing the search.
When asking about Canadian retailers. It's kind of silly when we have a whole list down the left side of the site, and they tend to be best places to order from.
