Re: Don’t open locked doors

The collector showed the family prices from Amazon as verification how much his collection cost... Yeah, and we all know how reasonable Amazon prices can be.

Re: Don’t open locked doors

I see a lot of toys scattered around and on the floor, but how many were actually broken?

Re: Don’t open locked doors

I've known a few people that have had detolf shelves break without provocation, and I know at least one board member who has had a nephew open sealed original Star Wars stuff to play with it. It sucks that it does happen, but it's a risk you take inviting people with young children into your house. even with locked doors kids are both curious and determined when they REALLY want something, regardless of a warnig to two.

Also - only time I will say this - let's keep the swearing out of the thread. Thank you.

Re: Don’t open locked doors

Oh man, this is a personal nightmare of mine

My own kid is super-respectful of other figs, and treats her stuff just as well, probably learned behaviour and whatnot
My nephews on the other hand, are basically woodchippers
I have to hide/pack any loose figs up and close all doors when they come over, so nervous

And make sure to leave out a couple of beater "decoy" figs to keep them occupied (Armada bricks are great for this), and be the victims of all the "can I have this" requests

It sucks, because on the one hand I would love to encourage the hobby, get them legends-class figs as presents and whatever
But if they ever were able to reach the Torca high up on the shelf, he's toast

Not to mention the G1 Skyquake that used to be in my parents' toy trunk in the basement for better part of a decade - I thought it was long destroyed, found it recently (not in the trunk) and couldn't believe the luck (nothing broken), took it home immediately

  2. How does a "kid" get into a locked room? Why would he/she try so hard? The guy must have shown this collection to the kid before for the "kid" to try so hard.
  3. I don't think the guy locked the room properly and now blames the kid. If the collection is so valuable, I'd double check the room is locked properly before leaving.

It just doesn't add up...
Just read it and would like to know that myself
