Quick question about buying from Mandrake.

Hi I have a quick question about buying used from Mandrake.

They talk about items having possible stains and such and say the items are sold "as is" which is a little unnerving, but later at the bottom it says, box resealed, item unused, so I'm not sure what to make of the conflicting information.

Plus the "as is" makes me want to hear other peoples accounts of shopping there.

Oh, last question, do they ever come with their collectors coins or no?

Thanks!

Re: Quick question about buying from Mandrake.

I've bought from them three times before and was very happy. They english translation from Japanese doesnt give much information, so everytime I would submit a question and they would answer with more details..I would recommend this if you are seeking mint and good conditioned items. All their stuff is mostly used, but alot of it is sealed and new. They are based in several shops in Japan that contribute to the website, I have bought from 3 different ones and they were all good. I read that in Japan their standards for mint and good condition is higher than here, so they are probably in excellent shape if "sealed".

Resealed means it was likely opened and checked, but ask them for clarification. Likely no coin as I read it only applies to Hasbro Asia items and not Japanese Takara items. Ask them as some items they have are not from Japan.

I bought from them once, and outside of the $20 duty I got hit with, which really has nothing to do with them, it could not have gone smoother.

They always make the condition sound worse so that they avoid dissatisfaction and returns. The staining usually reffers to the box.

Re: Quick question about buying from Mandrake.

Thank-you everyone. I asked them to clarify a couple things but it sounds like a solid choice.

But why can't these MP things be CHEAPER TO BUY?! lol

They are usually a good price on there, especially if it is opened as the one you are viewing seems to be...if it is opened already do you mind much the box condition?

Because they are part of a higher end collector market. But we dont have to buy them if we find the price too expensive. They are this price because people have kept purchasing them.

Sorry Maple, I thought my "lol" at the end and my caps would show that I was being sarcastic. Yes, I'd love them to be less expensive, but you're absolutely right. They sell for what the company can get for them.
