That actually sounds pretty cool. When do you think they'll come out with DC transformers?

never since Hasbro doesn't have the rights to make DC toys

Maybe this "announcement" is like the time Bay said there will be no Megatron in TF2.

Man he sounds a little bitter. It's like "nobody appriciates my genius so screw you all." Come on get over yourself. Of course making a big budget action movie is hard. That's why you get paid the big bucks. And as for the critics, if you want critical acclaim, make a movie with some more story and stop relying on the action to cover up problems with the script. Peter Jackson did it with LOTR.

I'm not bashing his movies. They're entertaining but don't contain much in the realm of substance to them. It's like a guy who writes greeting cards and now complains why he's not getting the Nobel Prize for Literature. Yeeeshh... cry me a river. He'll get critical acclaim for his work on Transformers the miniute the pieces of Supreme Devistator turn into their robot forms. Oh wait, they don't have robot forms.

I vote for J. J. Abrams. Do the same character development in Star Trek, but with Autobots and Decepticons.

Very agree.

Re: Michael Bay says "Hasta La Vista, Transformers."

It seems poor MBay (figuratively speaking) forgets that he's dealing with a big box office name like Transformers!! One has to expect to get persecuted by alot of ppl. Same goes for names like Star Trek & Terminator. We're critical fans! I guess he thought he could handle it but eventually got overwhelmed.
Well i personally am a fan of his style. I only expect a little character depth in Transformers. It's an action flick not an Al Pacino & Robert De Niro movie!
But if he wants to try something new he doesn't have to bash the critics, just appreciate the fans!

Until its on michael bays official site shootforthe edit.com its just a rumor. after TF1 he said he wanted to take a break and do something in between TF1 and ROTF, but he didnt want someone else to take his "baby" away from him. From what i have heard he wants to take a year off.

Re: Michael Bay says "Hasta La Vista, Transformers."

Hmmm ... very deja-vu? Or am I the only one who remembers Bay said he was done with Transformers forever back in 2007 when Transformers was not going to be released on Blu-Ray at that time.

If it does pan out and Bay does not return, they should find a director who can match his style. The last thing I and probably most of you want to see is the Movie franchise going "X-Men 3" on us.
