Agreed! I missed a great deal UM with Skywarp and also a complete G1 Devastator set on ebay a couple months ago as I was just learning how it worked. Now I know better and knowing is half the battle.

I also really, really regret not buying several Alternator Mirages when he was warming the shelves of my local stores like a ten pound blanket. Perfect money-making opportunity right there and I totally let it pass me by. I never even picked one up for myself.

More Alternators. Unfortunately it was about the time when I was getting back into collecting when there weren't many left on the shelves. I did snag a couple but regret passing up the few others that were still available at the time.

Re: What do you regret passing up?

lol! Just a couple of hours ago I passed up both ROTF Brawn and ROTF Lockdown for $10 each at my local WM.

I usually don't collect outside of the movie characters, but now looking back..."sigh"

I know. I'm glad you got him.

I just can't believe how much the price shot up. I figured I could pick him up later on...

Cheers!

Re: What do you regret passing up?

I REGRET NOTHING!!!

TF's are something that seems to hold my interest and I have a fairly fool-proof system for getting decent deals on them. I try to take the long-view when it comes to collecting. If it is North American main stream then I will be able to find it cheap...period. There is a window that can close on some figs but that is not often and that is usually exclusive figures. If it is a Japan only release like Alternity/BT/Etc then I tend to pounce right away on the initial releases in the line and then wait to see how they sell. If they shelf warm then I wait for sales after that. Exclusives I decide on prior to release and rarely need to go back.

Tracking the older stuff just takes time. There are still deals to be had and there will be more in the future. With summer just around the corner the Garage Sales will be starting (I have already scored Two G1's in good shape this year)
If you are willing to think Long-term with your collection then you will get everything you want and you won't break your bank. Just my two bits.
