Inspect items carefully. I saw someone about to buy a complete Abominus in a plastic bag once. He was waiting to get the dealer's attention (who was busy dealing with other people). I kindly pointed out to the would-be purchaser that sinnertwin was no longer attached to Hun-grr, and it appeared his head had broken off (a common problem with sinnertwin). The would-be purchaser promptly thanked me and put the bag down.

Had I not noticed that, or had the dealer not been so busy, that would-be purchaser would have been very unhappy when he finally noticed sinnertwin was broken.

If its from a loose bin, sure, why not.

Ok maybe not transform the holy-hell out of it, but as Bruticus82 said: be sure to "inspect the item carefully".

Maybe try asking the dealer nicely if you can (carefully) transform it first or even ask THEM to transform it for you beforehand.
