Re: Thinking of selling my collection
UP,
You're best bet is to go through and prioritize your pieces! As some will have more sentimental value than others.
Once you do that to three tiers (at a minimum). Start selling off everything else and then work up to the most chersihed pieces. If you even have to get that far!
Don't get rid of it all, you'll regret it down the line.
Follow the advice of the others above. Make deals with people/members to buy your stuff in smaller transactions and meet them at TFcon!
Keep the Botcon's as long as you can and as far as 3rd party.................. case by case basis.

Re: Thinking of selling my collection
Take a breather and tighten your spending before deciding to sell. The higher price tag figures such as MP, G1, 3rd party, etc depending on condition will be harder to find later and end up costing more in the long run to replace. I had my G1 collection given away and it's so difficult to replace now. Unless you need the money for your education, just limit your spending and take the time to decide.
Good luck to you, there's always a way around a tough situation.

No one knows for sure, but I'd be curious to hear your two cents.

With the recent flood (seemingly) of MP figures the past year or two, I've been thinking that too. The MP line is nicer to display, and with such limited shelf space I'd rather show those off.

MP-1 to MP-8: Took almost 10 years
MP-9 to MP-21: Almost 3 years
At this rate, MP will be the best way to go.

Re: Thinking of selling my collection
I am in the same boat. I don't think i will regret though if i sell off a large chunk of my collection. However, It's pretty hard to find buyers who is willing to pay you a fair price. It is either u sell in bulk or don't, otherwise u will end up with lots of stuff that no one wants. And your best bet is to sell them on EBay instead of selling them here. Believe me, your items will sit for years if u try to sell them here on Cybertron.ca. But be prepare for the fees u have to pay when selling them on eBay.

Ebay fees.
Paypal's cut.
Fucked if you under charge on shipping (Shipping out or even within Canada is balls to begin with).
I have over 300 doubles of Transformers, I just bring them to shows, I would never resort to Ebay. If it's a 5 buck deluxe or a $350 Botcon set, it's all for shows, never for "the bay"

Re: Thinking of selling my collection
It would b great if there is an access to show like TFcon if u r selling some items but not when u r trying to get rid of a large collection I assume? It isn't about making a profit right now, we are talking about getting rid of the collection. eBay is probably the best bet when u want to get rid of it once and for all. I am sure no one wants to have some left over when someone is trying to get rid of a collection, plus EBay is the fastest route to get rid of items from my past experience. I get rid of my electronics very quickly, compare to using cragslist which I get lots of low ballers and sit there for some time.
