Re: Hasbro Pulse Duties
I really don't get how duties work sometimes.
For instance, I had 2 separate orders shipped from the same seller in the US 2 days apart:
Order 1 - 220CAD and I paid $20 in duties
Order 2 - 260CAD and paid nothing.

For me, if I get 2 packages ($100USD + each) at the "same time" (a couple of days apart) from the US, one usually gets "caught" and the other doesn't.
With that being said, you are NOT paying "duties" on Transformers, you are paying the taxes and handling/brokerage fee. I think action figures and models are excluded from duties but for sure not jewelry.

The shipping fee pays for customs brockerage as well, which is nice. So you are only paying taxes.
You are saving the $10 CAD that Canada Post would charge to process taxes.
It is really nice to advance pay taxes as there are no surprises at the door. That's one reason I like Amazon JP (reasonable shipping too, and they remove the JP taxes before they charge the CAD taxes).

Re: Hasbro Pulse Duties
Can I ask a question about Hasbro pulse. I want to order something when it releases tomorrow. Not sure if it's in stock or a preorder. Can I use PayPal either way?

Re: Hasbro Pulse Duties
I read some people mention in the Pulse sightings thread during Pulsecon that they could only order with a credit card or a paypal with a credit card linked to it.

My card is not connected to my account. But what if I had a balance on my account?

Re: Hasbro Pulse Duties
Hello. As a proud libertarian from Toronto, I do not understand why I should give part of my salary for some taxes to the Canadian government, which also does not satisfy me. That's why I don't use any services of many companies. Just try to understand me. There is a certain fixed price for delivery. What right does the State have to take part of this money to its treasury? I just don't see the obvious point in it. Okay, the payroll tax. and this is completely nonsense. the payment system is also very bad. There are always some problems with receipts. it's good that my girlfriend recommended me a website that explains how to make paystub. Otherwise, I would have completely stopped paying these taxes.
