Do you ever buy a figure only because everyone wants it?

I just buy what I like but must admit I have been tempted by MP Grimlock.

I rarely succumb to hype, but it has happened.

• Alternators Camshaft - I got him because he was rare everywhere but Canada
• ROTF Ransack - lots of hype around a TF bi-plane
• Universe Swerve - another hyped figure with above-average availability in Canada
• Animated Rodimus - probably would have skipped him, but he suddenly became abundant locally

Additionally, I'm still considering getting ROTF Breakaway due to all the high praise he's received.

I will admit I have fallen for the hype of a given product from time to time. However, as I get older and wiser, I do tend to purchase only what I really want now. This could change at any moment though.

I usually only buy what I like.

However with TRU's sale today I purchased BBBB simply because of all the great reviews I've heard about him. Didnt really need another deluxe BB since I already had TFTM CC BB and I dont tend to buy multiples of the same characters in a given line, as a general rule.

But the reviews made me grab him while he's abundant instead of waiting and maybe wanting him later. I think I may just leave him sealed for now... well we'll see how long that lasts.

no. i'm super picky with what i buy.

ex: fansproject bruticus add-ons. it doesn't really do much for me. no matter what they do to the original toys its supposed to enhance, they are still butt-ugly.

I think without hype, I may have never payed attention to and ordered anything from Fansproject.
