Can somebody fill me in on Beast Hunters?

I am at a loss as to why Hasbro is headed in this direction with TF Prime but I have yet to complete watching Season 2.

Does something weird happen at the end of Season 2 like everybody gets infected with spiky accessories? Makes no sense to vehicles if you ask me.

Anyway, I'm just curious as, based on what I'm seeing with the toys, this is probably the end of the road for me with TP Prime.

Beasts were never mentioned or seen in season 2.

Re: Can somebody fill me in on Beast Hunters?

i think there is a preview clip of an "autobot hunter" for the beginning of season 3?

We don't know a lot about it yet, either.

A preview clip has been making the rounds that depicts Shockwave and (who we believe to be) Predaking stepping out of the space bridge to meet with the Earth-based Decepticons. That's it.

Everything else is just speculation.

My wild and crazy theory:
(without reading any spoilers or leaks)

The beast planet is Unicron's first minion. After Unicron's original defeat at the hands of the original Primes, he fled and slumbered, he "creates" this planet like how Unicron "created" Earth.

Was awakened when he felt his master's "revival". After sensing Unicron's "death", he creates the Predacons to take revenge on his master's killers.

To protect humans, Optimus moves the Autobots to the beast planet to fight the Predacons, and to defeat the beast planet's "spark".

My belief is that Megatron enlisted the help of Predaking and other beasts to hunt down the autobots

Re: Can somebody fill me in on Beast Hunters?

well the decepticon made it quite clear they were present on earth...no need to hide in human based mode now

as for the spikes on the autobot this may just be a way to sell the same character over again

I think it's also just another ploy to sell more toys. Kids have been bombarded with the basic look of cars, planes etc for quite awhile now. Turn them into beasts, just like Beast Wars and they may spark children's imaginations once again.

Re: Can somebody fill me in on Beast Hunters?

I think in addition to changing up the toys and sell more, the show wants to engage older fans from the Beasties era. TF Animated had only two beasties (Waspinator and Blackarachnia) and maybe that wasn't quite enough.

Re: Can somebody fill me in on Beast Hunters?

That sucks. I was hoping to get more G1 characters from the Prime line before it pittered into oblivion. I hated the Beast Wars era. Even Predaking looks more like a Terrorcon than his actual namesake.
