Re: Your wishlist for the new G1 reissue line

Is it just me, or is it very likely the original molds for Gears, Huffer, Brawn, Windcharger, and Cliffjumper were re-tooled into their new counterparts never to be re-issued again? I can't see any evidence any of them have ever been re-released. Have they really gone the way of Mirage, Wheeljack and others?

Hm, not entirely sure about that. In a way, though, the above '84 Mini-bots did get a 21st-century re-release in one form or another. Huffer and Gears were part of a Mini-bots 6-pack under Takara's Transformers Collection re-issue line (a.k.a. the so-called "Dreamwave re-issues" in the "book boxes"). As for the others, they were re-made as the transforming keychains by Fun4All.
Granted, all that was at least 14 years ago, sometime before the Encore line, so....

Re: Your wishlist for the new G1 reissue line

I would love to see them all released but more importantly to me I'd love to find them all in the wild. The hunt has always been the best part of collecting for me and with the MP line that has become a non factor. Hunting for and finding G1 Starscream today was amazing for me. It brought back a feeling I have not felt in a long time. I got to the isle and didn't see anything, bitter disappointment. But then I could see out of the corner of my eye a beautiful purple and black box hiding behind a bay universe piece of crap and it was like I was 10 all over again. Hunt successful. Pre ordering a bot is not quite the same as putting in a little effort and finding what you want before someone else does. Good times.

Re: Your wishlist for the new G1 reissue line

My wish list is selfish and consists of the 20ish bots I need to finish my G1 collection. BUT if they reissued a fig I have it would need to be the Dinobots...I would be all over a new set of G1 Dinobots.

I’d love to finally see legitimate reissues of the G1 Dinobots.

The molds were lost. Can't happen, alas.

Long stack Optimus has been done with all Japanese Takara reissues AFSIK so just grab one. We will probably never get one from Hasbro due to toy safety rules.

If Hasbro were to redo G1 triple changers again we may see Blitzwing and Astrotrain. They did it not too long ago in bizarre colors and they did not sell, so in their mind they were not best sellers. I doubt it will happen soon.

Insecticons have been done by Hasbro. May be we will see it again, who knows?

The Takara Encore G1 Bruticus is just aweful. If Hasbro were to pick it up from Takara, which is very likely, I'd rather pick up a loose '80 one.

Are the new reissues sold with the original instructions and catalogue?
