Re: Masterpiece Shockwave Incoming!
Regarding the die cast, it doesn't impress me if a toy is heavy. Just means it is easier for gravity to do its job when the toys falls of a shelf.
It's a negative in my eyes because it is harder to match the colour of paints on plastic and metal and unpainted plastic. On the Fanstoys dibots, you can see the colours are slightly different shades when they are suppose to be the same colour.
It adds to the shipping costs (Fanstoys sludge has been delayed to be redesigned cause of the weight and shipping costs making it over $200 usd retail price). On Fanstoys Scoria, there is so much weight in his feet, when you lift the toy off the shelf or table, he has the same spaghetti legs and hips as the recent Hasbro MP Grimlock.
On Fanstoys soar (swoop), the gold claws on his knee are metal but the small gold piece that tabs in the upper thigh is plastic and the tab is prone to breaking. To me it seems like they just pick at random which pieces should be diecast.
