Price hike for 2020?

Just wondering if anyone else has heard/read about any upcoming price hikes for 2020?

With Walmarts site it looks like both SS Leader Grimlock & Blackout are now at $74.97 each. ... I thought I remember seeing them in store at $69.97 when they first came out.

And in the Ontario Sightings here @The7thParallel mentions seeing the shelf tags are now matching the online prices ($45 for a voyager & $75 for a leader).

Will this be the case with just the Studio Series lot, or could that also include Earthrise when it comes out as well?

Re: Price hike for 2020?

That’s a SEVENTY-FIVE PERCENT price hike in under 2 years if they do those price points for Earthrise. $20 —> $35.

Nope nope nope. I won’t support that and will stop buying unless on super sale.

That said I have Earthwise Wave 1 pre-ordered at Amazon Canada for the 2019 prices so...

Well ya it sucks however I will continue to buy. I will just buy much less like I did last year. Gotta draw the line somewhere.

Either that or stock up on ...

Re: Price hike for 2020?

Yeah it is getting to be not worth it anymore.

I haven't bought a leader since Shockwave (on sale). I skipped Ultra Magnus and Galaxy Prime. I haven't bought a single deluxe for full price, except Refractor. Even then the last deluxe I bought was Ironhide. I have actually bought a bunch of Voyagers and MM/BM, but otherwise I have stayed away. The only big purchase was Omega who I was able to get for less than $170 thanks to a local seller. I will still get the Seacons, grudgingly, but not much else. Earthrise will have to be something special for me to buy.

I'm done with MPs since Dinobot.

I actually have picked up a bunch of cyberverse, on sale. They are surprisingly fun, but definitely not worth the full price.

So yeah if the price does go up, it will have to be a special item, on sale, for me to bite.

Re: Price hike for 2020?

I cut back in 2019, part was the prices and part I just couldnt find much of anything here at all.

If its going up again in 2020 than I'll cut back more, which isnt a bad thing I dont think. With so many repeats every 2 or 3 years how many Starscreams do I really need

I guess we just wait for sales then. I'm not willing to spend $35 on a deluxe figure. They want to keep using less plastic in the figures and also in the packaging, but the price keeps increasing.

Haven’t deluxe class figures been 30 for several years now? That’s what I’ve always paid unless they were on sale.

Nope. The thirty bucks came with siege. They were $20 through titans and potp. $18.99 during cw. 15.99-17.99 for thrilling 30 and earlier.

Do 21.99, ok. I get it. 24.99 deluxes? Ehhhh but 20 off at least. Thirty bucks, a 50% increase, is not justified by a goddamn thing.

Even with sales you're still over the previous regular

Re: Price hike for 2020?

They seem to be actively trying to lose sales. I cut way back on purchases during the last hike. Will do the same with this one. In the last three years my collection went from dominantly Transformers to more heavily Marvel Legends/Star Wars/Power Rangers. Not that Hasbro is crying since they own all of those, but cut backs are still cut backs. There are plenty of TFs out on the shelves right now that I would have picked up at the previous price points that I’ve passed on now. Oh well. Sucks but whatchagonnado?
