Problems with Automaton Website (Virus?) RESOLVED

Not sure if this is the right spot ...

A week or so ago I clicked the shopping link to the Automaton Toys site on the right side of the Cybertron.ca page when I got to the site my IE slowed to a crawl and said that the Automaton site was unsafe. Being an idiot I ignored this and continued. Over the last week my Firewall was acting up on my PC then I found out that there was a Trojan Virus on board. After uploading AVG and casting out the evil spirits all seemed well.

For shits and giggles I tried the link to Automaton again tonight and the my IE slowed to a crawl again and my firewall shut down after I got to the site.

So is it just me or is anyone else having issues with the Automaton site?

I opened it up, slowed down to a point of almost frozen but picked back up. See no virus, but then again I'm on a Mac.

I haven't tried it, but now that you mention it, I'm afraid to click on the link now.

Re: Problems with Automaton Website (Virus?)

I'm on their website every few days and it's been a little slow to load lately but nothing more than a few seconds. What version of IE are you using?

Re: Problems with Automaton Website (Virus?)

I just clicked on the Automation link on the left, browsing with the latest FireFox. Avast warned me of a trojan, and I was able to stop the connection to the site right away. Seems like somethings going on there.

I tried logging on an had a FA4.exe attempt to install on my machine but I blocked it. I'm reporting this to our Admin and letting them know right now.

Re: Problems with Automaton Website (Virus?)

I sent him an e-mail a while back about this and he has yet to respond...

I recently tried going there on my Android phone, and it downloaded something to it! Of course, no windows virus could harm my android, but.. yeah

Also, my Work's internet security picks up the same Trojan, and blocks me from viewing the site. Mario! Please fixy your site! I want to place some pre-orders!

Re: Problems with Automaton Website (Virus?)

This happened to me twice in the last few weeks.

I went to the site, I got an adobe error first, and then antivirus popped up and warned me of 2-4 trojans.

I e-mailed them and told him about it. He said they were aware of the problem and were reviewing their scripts. He seemed to think it was a script error that was being flagged as malicious by overly zealous antivirus software.

But last time I went to the site everything seemed fine. I thought it had been fixed. *shrugs*

Edit: Just tried the site again, no errors, no antivirus warnings...

Re: Problems with Automaton Website (Virus?)

I'd noticed the same thing a few weeks back as well. Fortunately, my anti-virus blocked the infection, and I've been wary.

But I have noticed lately that their site has really been bogging down, and will actually kill my Firefox sessions (IE seems to work fine). Haven't been on there this week, so I don't know if anything's changed...

Re: Problems with Automaton Website (Virus?)

Well right now I'm removing another Trojan virus. Stupid me for trying to access the site again tonight. My PC is in hurting shape right now.
