Stacks from non-Canadian online stores

Hey all,

I was just wondering, is it better to stack a bunch of figures and ship them all in one box (and pay a crapload of import fees) or to simply order and have your figure shipped individually?

I'm debatting whether or not TFSource's stack option would work well for me.

Magnus.

I order a lot from TFSource and I use their stack. You save on shipping cost, and I never been hit by customs from TFSource (but I always was with BBTS).

Hit and miss on customs fees however they seem to pay more attention to the larger boxes I used to do bulk and seemed that they picked off every large box been getting smaller single figures and they seem to make it through for the most part the declaration plays a big part here I think.

I seem be immuned from HST and the $9 handling fees for things that are @ or under $100 shipped by USPS/CanadaPost.

As for BBTS: I got the HST + handling fees 90% of the time. But then I have big "piles of loot" with "BBTS" logos on the packing tapes.

I've had exactly the same experience with TFSource and BBTS, although I'm a fairly infrequent buyer. I don't bother with BBTS at all any more. Having said that, I also agree with justprime's point about the size of the shipping box being a factor. A huge box would be tougher to slide under the radar without being flagged for scrutiny and assessment by customs officers.

TFSource lies about the value of the contents, which usually saves you on customs. I just got MP-10 from them, and they marked it at $50.

I believe BBTS marks the true value.

Yeah, hiding the true value of an item can bite you on the butt. If it gets lost in the mail, insurance will only give you back the declared value. For myself, I'd rather gamble that I don't get dinged by customs than gamble that something won't get lost. At least if I get dinged with customs, I still get my item.

I've noticed that shipping from HLJ, RK and Anime Export I never get ding'd on customs.
