RTS Legends Starscream Battle Damage

Okay so i'm trying to collect the whole RTS legends class figures, but i'm pretty unimpressed by this guy. The Jet mode looks good but his bot mod is crap. To get the good jet mode is body is so flat and unbending. I could make a comparable Starscream out of origami. None the less I had fun giving him his due.

I'm digging the way you do the chipping damage. Those gashes look pretty badass!
I'm assuming you just melt the plastic with something or maybe even a small soldering rod?

Yeah I sharpened a Bobby pin and I heat it up with a small torch.
