Re: I think Generations Warpath could be a Masterpiece figure

I got it second hand in robot mode and without looking it up I was never able to transform him fully. Now obviously I can't have tried that hard but its not intuitive.

Sorry, what is "H tank"? Is that a special tank model?

Standard tank looks like a rectangular-block when viewed from the top: ie, G1 Warpath, G1 Blitzwing (in tank mode).

H-tanks are those where the treads stick out to the side, with one set of treads up front sticking forward, and another sticking out in the back; looks like an "H" when viewed from the top. Examples: Generations Warpath, Armada Mega/Galvatron, Animated Shockwave.

I could deal with a new MP Megatron being a tank. Like that concept shown by Joe Kyde back then.

Re: I think Generations Warpath could be a Masterpiece figure

It's a tank shaped like the letter H. Not very realistic, but an easy/lazy alt mode for transformers since the arms and legs just become the four prongs of the H. Generations Warpath, Armada Megs, and ROTF Megs all have this type of alt mode.

Edit: H tanks are also slow, just like this reply, apparently.

I've been trying to figure out how to give him some waist articulation. Any ideas?

Yeah, something along those lines would be my ideal Megatron. Realistic tank alt mode with a G1-style robot mode. I think the new Hasbro leader is using the design below (from the current IDW comics), which still looks awesome. I just hope it has a clean alt mode and doesn't cheat too much in the transformation.

Re: I think Generations Warpath could be a Masterpiece figure

I think the first Generations line (including RTS and Takara's United) from 2010-11 gave us some pretty awesome figures. Most are neo-G1 characters and the figures inherited the complexity from ROTF.

But MP is a completely differently line of products.

I agree. H tanks are gratuitous.

Matrix, that's lazy exactly!

I must give BeastWars the lazy Transformation prize. Many toy designs involved:

-Beast arm and legs become Robot arm and legs (BAALBRAAL)
-Some of the above by just "standing up", no other Transformation required!
-Leftover head-jaw? "Oh yah, that's his claw hand". (repeat for the next hundred toys)
-Leftover plate kibble? "Oh yah, that's his shield". (repeat for the next hundred toys)
-Leftover detachable tail that still looks like just a tail? "Oh yah, that's his gun." (repeat for the next hundred toys)
