Transformers Legends Mobile Game

Just curious if anyone else has had a chance to try the Legends mobile game yet. I believe I heard that it's only available on Android devices at the moment, but should be out for iPhone shortly. If you haven't, it's free, so you should at least check it out.

I have to say that I'm a little bit disappointed. It's marketed as a "card battling" game, and in a sense it, but it's not really what I was hoping for.

There really isn't any challenge to it, or even any kind of real game play. When you "battle" another player, you don't actually do anything. You just assemble your deck beforehand and then you get a goofy animation of your cards shooting lasers and bashing into one another. Essentially, the winner is decided by who has the most powerful cards in their deck.

Beyond that you just spend the rest of your time using "energon" to go on missions. These consist of simply getting free cards, "battling" other players, or playing a stupid minigame where Swoop shoots missiles at you that you just have to tap to destroy.

All in all, it's not much different from a Zynga Facebook game like Mafia Wars. The only real motivation to play it is to collect all the cards and level them up. It's a shame too, because the artwork is really awesome.

It just seems like it had so much potential, but ended up watered down to the point where it wasn't even really a "game". Oh well.

Is anyone else having more fun with it than I am?

I have been playing it for a few days.
I will admit that the "collect them all" aspect is awesome and is very addictive but I do agree there is, more or less, no gameplay.
I had started playing another game from the same company called Blood Brothers about 2 weeks before the Transformers game came out and it is essentially the same game. It may actually be a little better. I am only still playing because it is Transformers related, that is for sure.

To be honest, I hate games on mobile devices for the most part because it becomes about who is willing to spend real money on whatever token the company uses to bolster their decks or characters. I guess it's a way to get you to pay 20$ for a game you are barely willing to get for free.

I think the art work is amazing and I will continue to play, for free, until I get bored but to be fair it is a pretty awful "game"

Well that sucks. Lol. I was hoping to wait for it on the iOS and really I only wanted to get it because of the pretty cards.. If this was an actual card game I'd just collect the cards, screw playing. Lol.

I am really addicted to it so far. Originally I hated it, but I kept playing because I want to see all of the card artwork. It ticked the "gotta collect em all!" part of my brain, so I can't stop playing now XD

I will admit that the cards are totally awesome. I'll probably still pick it up and play it once in a while when I'm bored, but it just sucks that you can't actually play any kind of skill based game with them.

I've been playing non stop (to the extent you can in this game) which means play until your energon needs to be refilled, you level up, or up your cards. It's addictive but not spend actual money addictive.

Sounds like Legend of the Cryptids, but with Transformers cards, no?

I honestly have no idea what's happening in the game when I play. The card artwork is brilliant though.
