Bluestreak and his colors?

I have been looking for the history on Bluestreak and where or when the blue in his new color scheme came into play.

I am trying to build an accurate season one MP collection and I actually prefer the blue to the red/silver. However, I won't hop on the blue bus unless I can find SOME sort of reference to the G1 Cartoon.

I like them all but I want to recreate some G1 scenes for photography purposes.

If I am not mistaken the blue colored streak came from one of the original line of toys. (Diaclone & Microchance) These were the toy lines the creators of the G1 Transformer cartoon were given to create the characters.

Bluestreak I think was a play on words to have a character who was blue and talked non stop. How the original G1 character became Sliver/Black/Red in the cartoon I have no idea.

IMHO I would say to be 'G1' accurate the blue colored streak would not be included.

This is all correct. The expression 'he talks a blue streak' is to mean that he never shuts up, which is part of Bluestreak's character bio that he talked incessantly.

For cartoon accuracy, you will want to get the silver/black deco. This is the same one I got, for the same reason.

So the MP-18B is only paying homage to the Diaclone line then?

It's sure purdy. But I want G1 accurate so I guess silver/red/black is where I have to go. Which is still really badass

I believe so. He was never blue in the G1 cartoon.

I also love the silver/red/black best.

Hey buddy,

The "Blue" Bluestreak is based on a Diaclone variant, only seen in catalogs. But he never appeared in those colors in the G1 cartoon (even though the G1 cartoon was riddled with animation errors).
