Re: Classics Display: stand-ins & replacements

Hegemon for Megs,
Animated Ratchet/Ironhide cybertron mode
FOC Voyager Soundwave
Animated Activators Bee and CJ
Prime BH Shockwave

Also use Animated jets for the 3 seekers, I find the Hasbro versions WAY too small

Yeah but he's a shrimp (the figure). Even compared to other Prime figures.

Insecticons too! Fansproject ones are cool but they don't fit the bill. I'm really hoping that the Legends Shrapnel is going to be a sign of future Insecticons.

Looks like FOC Kickback fits the bill pretty well.

Just got the fansproject insecticons for cheap and I find that 50$ is pushing it on those figures, nevermind them being almost 100$ each now. They are beautiful figures, dont get my wrong, but very very pricey for what you get, honestly.

On topic:
best stand in for classics optimus would be MP-10 if your worried about height. That figure is perfection, but alas doesnt fit the bill at 250$+ now does it.....

Also, for ratchet and Ironhide....IGEAR all the way! If you havent bought those figures GET THEM NOW! (dont pay more than 100$ for them tho)

Re: Classics Display: stand-ins & replacements

Well, if you're into customizing a bit, here's a few options:

Classics Deluxe Ironhide - Energon Deluxe Inferno (he's got a window chest, primarily red, central head crest, he looks fairly Cybertronian without his weapon)

Classics Deluxe Ratchet - Energon Deluxe Roadblock (he's got a window chest, different head than Inferno, he looks fairly Cybertronian without his weapon)

Classics Ultra Duocon Flywheels - Energon Ultra Jetfire (the "shuttle" part detaches from the cargo section, modify the cargo section into a tank)

Re: Classics Display: stand-ins & replacements

I like the FOC Kickback but it's hard to place him into classics knowing he shares the video game aesthetic with a lot of other characters.

I would also like 3P Dinobots that scale well with MP Grimlock. I think MP Dinobots would be a perfect scale in a classic collection considering they were huge powerhouses.

Re: Classics Display: stand-ins & replacements

classics will always be my main line. its what got me collecting tfs again. especially now with all the new 3rd party combiners, which i'm loving btw...some of them fit in nicely with the classics line. i like mps, and i have a few myself but i dont see them making any combiners anytime soon. why make 5 or 6 individual molds when you can make 3 times as much off one?
