I will admit, the animation was sorta simplistic, but it was good, reminded me of the newer Batman cartoons compared to the old 90's ones. Loved all the old in-jokes to the original series, and I'm hoping it ties into it more tightly later on.

I liked it, but there were a few things I didn't like: 1. the humans were too inspector gadget like, in the way they came across in the story line.
2. expressions on the robots in car modes ( ie bumblebee)
but maybe I'll get use to these things or learn not to pay attention to them!

Re: Transformers Animated Episodes 1-3 Official Discussion

I really thought the show came off very well.

Liked: Starscream and his army of Decepticons(totalling zero!)"Now I command the Decepticons!!!! Hey, where is everybody?"
The Galactic scale and that it is set in future Detroit........maybe we'll get a snowplow Transformer from Canada or something.................
Ratchet as an improved, useful version of Kup was enjoyable.
The human characters consisted of more than children, and only one child looks to be prominate. Really actually liked all the human characters as they all fit in well and added to the story.
Prowls "Skywarping" Ability, Ratchets "Tractor Beam" Ability
Bumblebee in general I liked even though getting used to the art is tough.
Bulkhead is a funny lug
Blitzwing with multiple faces/personalities-great idea.
Megatron in general
The Matrix of Leadership
Prime and Prowls battle masks

Disliked:
Prime-His look, his voice, his water squirter.
Not sure why Sarii's dad had to have the East Indian accent when he appeared to have grown up in America as a small child. I just remember the whole Jar Jar is Jamaican fiasco and am worried people will veiw this in a similar way. He appears to be a good character at heart which is hopefully how it will continue to go, but then Jar Jar was a good character too...........
Ultra Magnus-"Just hang tight, don't do anything till we get there"-easy advice for someone not about to be blown up by a huge warship. Plus he had Prime's evil eyes.

Overall I thought it was well written and very entertaining. Starscream was a standout for me. I like how the Autobots are in the public eye and are veiwed as hero's by the humans. Makes a lot more sense than trying to have a war where the humans don't know whats going on and are oblivious to everything.

I'm still out on this one..... Personally, I'd like to finally see a bad ass, no nonsense, tough guy Optimus Prime. This Prime is too much of a newb (IMO) so far.

Liked Starscream....his voice suited him and he was actually evil instead of just being a coward.

Disliked Prime voice.....he doesn't have the voice of a leader..just a prepubescent teen.

Hated...human characters. Am I the only one that finds all of the human characters in TF series after G1 to be heinously annoying and loud and stupid and annoying!

Other than that...I may watch it again.

Re: Transformers Animated Episodes 1-3 Official Discussion

It was pretty good in the sense that I enjoyed it and it may make me buy a few of the toys. I liked most of the characters especially Bumblebee, Ratchet, Starscream and Megatron. I don't like Prime's Head or voice. I don't get if he's such a history buff how he didn't mention that the leader during the great war shared the same name as himself. What happened to his trailer (or is that a joke about G1)? From the Megatron I've seen it's the second best one since G1. Evil look, evil voice and evil attitude. Overall it was well done and I look forward to seeing more.

Re: Transformers Animated Episodes 1-3 Official Discussion

I thought Sari was the best human character since the days of G1 even if she's only a kid. Couldn't stand the humans in A-E-C, especially the ever annoying Kicker. Quite frankly, the A-E-C trilogy was just as childish as Animated despite using slightly older characters. Plus, the 3D Animation of Energon and Cybertron sucked so much, I'm glad they're back to 2D stuff.
