It's unfortunate IMO, but it seems like people will declare something a complete fail if it isn't perfect in every way. I play hearthstone and it's the sane basic thing with card reveals, if a card isn't instantly OP it can only be utter shit.
There seems to be a general trend that expressing a critical opinion makes someone seem/think of themselves as more intelligent. As I was growing up I feel I saw it more in my male friends, who for me were also gamer nerdy types that could slip into rules lawyer mode each and every one of us.
But yea, more concrete example, not uncommon to see a post that's like

I like this fig, BUT... 2 paragraphs about butt flaps being awful. ."
